About the Café

Dewey's Cafe volunteers

When plans were being developed for the new library, the Friends made a commitment to establish a café. Many hours of planning and research by the Café in the Library Committee resulted in the wonderful facility which was christened Dewey’s Friends after the Dewey Decimal cataloging system most of us grew up with.

Dewey’s is run 100% by volunteers, and over the years Dewey’s Café has raised thousands of dollars for library programs!

At Dewey’s Friends, you can get coffee, tea, soft drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and other goodies. The Café also subscribes to a variety of newpapers. Bring your laptop—the Café (and the entire Library) is a wireless hotspot.

There is a sunny, sheltered courtyard adjacent to the Café, which is open when the weather is warm.

The Friends also maintain an honor system book sale rack in one corner.

Let us cater your next meeting in the Library

Dewey’s Friends Café now offers catering services for meetings held in the Library’s Stafford meeting rooms.
