Marketing manager with an in-depth knowledge of Alameda audiences and the best way to reach them through a wide range of channels (social, print, signs, banners, etc.). Individual will work with Friends of the Alameda Free Library to strategize and carry out a community educational campaign to raise awareness of Alameda’s libraries and FAL. Individual would also project-manage, help brainstorm graphics and work with FAL board to get approval. Expected time commitment 40 hours for each yearly.
Experienced designer who can help brainstorm ideas for campaigns using our input on concept, tone, etc., and execute in all channel types (print, social, etc.). Prefer someone who has worked on big-concept campaigns and has an up-to-date sense of design. Designer should have access to necessary software. Expected time commitment would be about 20-30 hours for each yearly campaign (currently expected to be five campaigns, one per year).
Chair, Revenue Generating Committee
The Friends of the Alameda Free Library have an opening for Chair of the Revenue Generating Committee. This individual will organize the semi-annual appeals and capital campaigns as well as coordinate with volunteers who head the Book sale, Café and Live at the Library Concerts committees. The Chair will serve on the Board of the Friends of the Alameda Free Library. The individual should have experience in raising funds.
Concerts co-manager needed for Live @ the Library concerts
We need someone to help produce the three fall jazz concerts that take place at the Main Library. This volunteer will manage the business details of the concerts. Time commitment June through November. Tasks include:
- Insurance, licenses, tax forms, ABC permit
- Renting pianos from Piedmont Piano Company
- Refreshments, including coordinating with Dewey’s Friends Cafe
- Arranging for photo or video coverage of concerts.
