On June 24, 2020, the Friends of the Alameda Free Library hosted San Francisco author Alan Fleishman for a discussion of his work A Collection of Characters, a compilation of fourteen short stories. This talk focused on the history underpinning the lead story entitled “Frannie Potter,” which is set during the Spanish Civil War.
