Friends mourn the passing of long-time volunteer Lynda Graham

Lynda Graham, a long-time book sale volunteer with the Friends of the Alameda Library, died in April 2020. Lynda spent countless hours in the sorting room pricing CDs, DVDs, and graphic novels for more than 35 years. Former book sale manager Peg Rosen said she could always count on seeing Lynda on Mondays working away in her corner of the sorting room. Lynda was also a tireless volunteer for the book sales and her expertise and presence will be sorely missed. Lynda joined the Navy and became a WAVE in 1961 and moved to Alameda in 1976. Lynda loved to read, especially mysteries. Her daughter said that the Friends were a very special part of her life and that she wanted “one hell of a party” to mark her death. Sadly, a party is not possible at this moment. FAL will make a contribution in her name for DVD/media purchases to the Alameda Free Library.
