We warmly welcome Marcie Soslau as our newest board member. Marcie comes from Philadelphia, the birthplace of the public library. She previously volunteered for her children’s public school fundraising programs. She has spent a lot of time working with children, her own and others, in educational settings. She cannot overemphasize the fundamental importance of learning how to read.
Marcie, a social worker by profession, is looking forward to working side by side with FAL board members in furthering our mission to support the Alameda Free Library and the library/public access to reading and books. She’s also looking forward to connecting with friends and neighbors through FAL events.
Marcie, like so many of us, is eagerly anticipating the day she can safely fly to travel and visit her relatives still living on the east coast. We are pleased to welcome Marcie to the FAL board, and her entire family to Alameda.
