Luzanne Engh is being honored with a City of Alameda Community Service Award as a Nonprofit Board Member. Luzanne has brought outstanding leadership and tireless dedication to multiple nonprofit organizations in Alameda. She is personally responsible for many initiatives and events that support libraries, education, and leadership for young women. For the past 10 years, Luzanne has dedicated herself to FAL, serving as treasurer, vice president and president, leading both big-picture strategic discussions and working at nearly every event. She has dedicated countless hours as co-chair of the Live @ the Library concert series bringing high-quality jazz to Alameda and raising money for library programs. When it became clear that the Friends of the Alameda Free Library and its sister organization, Alameda Free Library Foundation, would benefit from a merger, she co-chaired the ad hoc merge committee.

Her volunteer work is not limited to FAL. Luzanne also serves on the board of Girls Inc. as its president, and she and her husband Tom also deliver meals for Meals on Wheels.

FAL congratulates Luzanne on a well-deserved honor and recognizes the significant contribution she has made to the ongoing success of FAL and to improving the lives of those in the Alameda community.
