June 24, 2020 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Join us on Wednesday, June 24 from 7-8pm for our second online author event. We will be joined by author Alan Fleishman who will discuss his work, A Collection of Characters. Registration is required for this event, and can be done here:

A Collection of Characters brings together fourteen short stories by Alan Fleishman. The lead story in this collection is entitled Frannie Potter, a work of fiction set during the Spanish Civil War. Fleishman’s presentation will focus on the history underpinning the story.

In 1937 an unusual young American woman named Frannie Potter goes off to fight in the Spanish Civil War to save the Spanish Republic and keep her friend, Marty Hornstein, alive. Together, these two “best friends” join the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, a band of idealistic young American volunteers determined to fight the rising tide of fascism. Their young lives are stamped forever by the ferocious fighting, the atrocities, the heat, the cold, privations, and their undiminished passion for the Spanish people and their cause.

A Collection of Characters, which includes the Frannie Potter story, is available in Kindle, paperback, and hardcover online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, other e-tailers, and through local book stores.

Alan Fleishman is the author of four previous novels, Goliath’s Head, A Fine September Morning, Lara’s Shadow, and Odyssey of Chaos.
