Join this panel discussion featuring three African American Alamedans who have made significant contributions to Alameda:
- Christine Chilcott: CEO of Girls Incorporated of the Island City; the only black person running a non-profit in Alameda
- Ardella J. Dailey, EdD: Alameda Unified School District trustee; assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Allied Studies, Cal State East Bay; first black superintendent of AUSD
- Vickie R. Smith: Long-time activist for diversity and equity in schools; founder of Encinal High School Black Student Union while a student; retired Family Support Services Liaison for Alameda Unified School District
The panelists will discuss their lives and careers as Black women leaders. Alameda-based writer Akilah Monifa will moderate.
The event will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alameda Free Library, 1550 Oak St., Alameda.
